Lady Cats record wins

Walnut Ridge opened the 2014 softball season with a pair of convincing victories last week.

The Lady Bobcats routed 2A-2 conference opponent Cotter 21-5 in five innings at Cotter on March 11.

Sabrina Knight went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double and scored four runs, while Makayla Daniels went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Hannah Massey pitched all five innings, allowing three earned runs with two strikeouts.

The Lady Cats defeated the Black Rock Lady Zebras 19-0 in four innings on Thursday at Black Rock.

Baylee Burris and Hannah Doane each batted 3-for-3 with a double for the Lady Bobcats. Burris also had three RBIs and scored three runs, while Doane drove in two runs and scored twice. Massey went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and scored three runs.

Massey pitched another complete game, recording five strikeouts and allowing just three hits.
