Work on sewer stations beginsHoxie Mayor Lanny Tinker announced that work was about to begin on replacing the damaged pumps at the sewer stations during the city council meeting on March 11. Kajacs Contractors Inc. of North Little Rock began work within the week.
Pump station #2, located on Southwest Cotter Street, is the first priority as during heavy rains the station fails to pump enough to keep lines clear.
Work continues on county policyThe Lawrence County Quorum Court further discussed changes to the county personnel policy at Monday's meeting. Justice Junior Briner informed the court that the committee has been reviewing the policy alongside policies from other counties to best determine what to change.
