hires event company
The Beatles at the Ridge Musical Festival planning committee has contracted Entertainment Resources of Little Rock to help organize and run the event.
"This is a big step forward for Beatles at the Ridge on a couple of fronts. First and foremost, Entertainment Resources gives us expertise in managing festival entertainment, which is increasingly complex with an event like ours that keeps growing each year," said Lorra Whitmire, festival committee member.
The company deals with a full range of entertainment matters, from the booking of acts, to the management of staging, contracts and other logistics.
"The services of Entertainment Resources puts main stage management for the event in the hands of a professional from outside our immediate area," said committee member Fran Cavenaugh. "This will help insure the festival remains a politically free event."
Entertainment Resources is operated by Brad Rickett, who has more than 20 years of experience in entertainment management.
"Rickett has the experience we need to take the festival to the next level," said Charles Snapp, festival committee chair. "Our festival is a true success story, and its continued growth makes it necessary to bring in a proven manager like this."
Entertainment Resources is currently working with the committee to sign acts for this year's festival, and the committee voted last week to extend a contract with All Star Music of Walnut Ridge on the same terms as last year. Last year, All Star Music provided staging, lights and sound for the main stage, along with a secondary stage on Abbey Road.
This year's festival will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' stopover at the Walnut Ridge Airport in 1964. The festival will be held in downtown Walnut Ridge on Sept. 19-20.
