Election season kicks off
Deputy County Clerk Sarah Dobbs looks over the list of filings for the May 20 Primary Election. Filing began on Monday and will conclude Monday at noon.
As of Tuesday afternoon, races had developed for county judge and one justice of the peace postion.
Incumbent Dale Freeman and John Thomison have both filed as Democrats for the county judge position, and incumbent Donald Richey and Coty Powers have both filed for JP position 2 as Democrats.
Committee formed to review
Lawrence County Judge Dale Freeman formed a committee to review and make suggestions for improvements to the county's personnel policy at the quorum court meeting Tuesday.
