Regular season play continued for the county's senior high basketball teams last week.
WR - Hillcrest
Walnut Ridge hosted Hillcrest for a pair of senior high contests on Friday.
The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated the Lady Screamin' Eagles 57-30.
Walnut Ridge led 25-14 at halftime and 41-16 after three quarters.
Caroline Kelley scored 19 points for the Lady Cats. Allyson McQuay had 12 points, and Hannah Doane added 10.
Caitlin Whitmire led Hillcrest with 11 points.
The Hillcrest senior boys defeated Walnut Ridge 78-51.
The Maynard Lady Tigers defeated Sloan-Hendrix 65-58 at Imboden.
Sloan-Hendrix went into the fourth quarter with a 40-31 lead, but were outscored in the period 34-18.
Britney Wolfe poured in 32 points for the Lady Greyhounds, while Brittany Gosha contributed 11 points.
In senior boys action, Maynard jumped out to a quick early lead and went on to defeat Sloan-Hendrix 75-46.
Maynard led 29-9 after one quarter, 43-25 at halftime and 67-39 at the end of the third quarter.
Dylan Wood scored 18 points, and Keith Saylors added 13 for the Greyhounds.
The Harrisburg Hornets opened up a 29-16 lead after two quarters en route to a 68-41 win over the Black Rock Zebras at Harrisburg.
The Lady Hornets defeated Black Rock 66-31.
Rachael Weekley had 11 points for the Lady Zebras.
Hillcrest - S-H
Hillcrest and Sloan-Hendrix split a pair of senior high games at Lynn on Feb. 11.
Sloan-Hendrix's Lady Greyhounds picked up a 53-40 road victory over the Lady Screamin' Eagles.
The Lady Hounds led 28-13 at halftime and 45-31 after three quarters.
Wolfe led Sloan-Hendrix with 18 points, while Alyssa Nichols added 12.
Whitmire had 15 points, and Natalie Glenn added 10 for the Lady Eagles.
Hillcrest's senior boys defeated Sloan-Hendrix 68-45.
Sloan-Hendrix got off to a hot start, lead 16-10 at the end of the first period. Hillcrest rallied in the second quarter to nose in front 30-29 by the intermission.
The Screamin' Eagles took command of the contest in the third quarter, outscoring the Greyhounds 23-6 to open up a 53-35 lead heading into the final quarter.
Colman Evans led Hillcrest in scoring with 23 points, while Evan Doyle and Randall Scott each had 11 rebounds.
Kyle Murphy led Sloan-Hendrix with 14 points.
Walnut Ridge edged the Lady Indians from Kennett, Mo., 37-35, at Sharum Gymnsium.
The Lady Bobcats trailed 18-12 at halftime, but rallied for a 27-27 tie late in the contest. Walnut Ridge broke a 33-all tie with four consecutive points to take the lead for good.
Kelley led the Lady Cats with 10 points.
Hoxie - Harrisburg
Noah Adamson recorded a triple double of 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead the Hoxie Mustangs to a 48-46 victory over Harrisburg in 3A-3 Conference play at Hoxie.
The Mustangs led 9-8 after one quarter, 22-19 at halftime and 35-34 after three periods.
Slade Sullens led Hoxie with 14 points, and James Johnson added 10 points.
Harrisburg won a junior boys game 41-16.
Hoxie's Lady Mustangs rallied for a 47-45 win over the Corning Lady Bobcats on Feb. 10 at Hoxie.
Hoxie trailed 39-31 entering the fourth quarter, but outscored Corning 16-6 in the final period.
Courtney Sears led the Lady Mustangs with 15 points, and Brandy Alls added 14.
Hoxie won a junior girls game 62-46.
