NEARIFA hopeful for future success
Scott Baltz, state representative District 61, attended the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority meeting on Dec. 5 in Pocahontas.
He told the members that they are blessed to have the cooperation of everyone in the group and what they have accomplished in the past four years.
"Governor Beebe and others in Little Rock are on board with what we are doing here," he said. "Getting things accomplished is all in the way you approach them, and the governor is ready to help us in our endeavor to bring new businesses to this area."
Intermodal Director Wayne Gearhart thanked Baltz for all his efforts on the Intermodal's behalf.
"He is doing a great job for us," he said.
Nathan Davis, Northeast Arkansas field director for Sen. John Boozman, and Rebecca Bryant with Congressman Rick Crawford's office, informed members that both Crawford and Boozman are working hard to get a Farm Bill passed as quickly as possible.
Corning Mayor Dewayne Phelan urged members to stay on top of the Highway 67 issue. "We need good highways to help us bring businesses to this area," he said.
Director Gearhart thanked everyone for the time and effort they have given to serve on the board since the Intermodal was formed. "We are hopeful that the work we have done will bring good results in the near future," he said.
