High school basketball action continued for county schools prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
BR - Riverside
Riverside's Caleb Waugh knocked down six three-pointers to lead the Rebels to an 81-47 win over the Black Rock Zebras in senior boys action at Black Rock.
Riverside led 22-12 at the end of the first quarter, and pulled away to a 50-25 halftime advantage.
Caleb McKenzie led the Zebras with 17 points.
Black Rock's Lady Zebras could not overcome a slow start and fell to Riverside 59-35. Black Rock managed just five points in the first half and trailed 25-5 at the break.
Riverside also won a pair of junior high games, with the boys defeating the junior Zebras 58-22 and the girls winning 48-17.
The Salem Lady Greyhounds used a big fourth quarter to pull away for a 75-53 win over Walnut Ridge in 2A-2 Conference action at Salem.
Salem led 49-40 after three quarters before outscoring the Lady Cats 26-13 in the final period.
Hannah Massey had 17 points to lead Walnut Ridge.
Salem won a junior girls game 48-23.
Hoxie - Trumann
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs improved to 2-1 on the season with a 50-45 win over Trumann at Hoxie.
Hoxie led 21-12 at the end of the first quarter and 35-20 at halftime. The Lady Mustangs held off a Trumann rally in the second half to earn the victory.
The Hoxie junior high girls defeated Trumann 35-27.
