Kelly Cheatham of Walnut Ridge has announced the birth of a daughter on Nov. 13, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
The baby weighed seven pounds, 13 ounces, and has been named Emma Jolene Cheatham.
She has two siblings, Zachary Manus and Dylan Cheatham.
Wilma Petero of Hoxie is her grandmother, and great-grandparents are J.W. and Nancy Cheatham of Magnolia.
Edna Jewell Cummings, 98, of Walnut Ridge, died Nov. 16, 2013, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Born March 6, 1915, in the Enterprise community, she was the daughter of John and Vena Merrill Pursley. She was a homemaker and a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lealon Cummings Sr.; a son, Ed Cummings; a son-in-law, Duffy Peronia; a sister, Cuma Seanard; and two grandsons, Eddie Cummings and Jay Lee Cummings.
Survivors include three sons, A.J. Cummings and wife Louise, Booneville, Rudy Cummings and wife Barb, Jonesboro, and Lealon Cummings Jr. and wife Ann, Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Betty Peronia, Jonesboro, Linda Colburn and husband Terry and Joy Lingo and husband Dennis, all of Egypt, and Shirley Murphy and husband Glenn, Walnut Ridge; 11 grandchildren, Carolyn Cooper, Cathy Graddy, Douglas Peronia, Julie Raggio, Toni Moore, Tammie McDonald, Donna Whitley, Crockett Murphy, Blair Ballard, Lyndsey Lamberson and Laura Burgess; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Revs. Stan Ballard and Harold Ray officiating. Burial was in Nettleton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Douglas Peronia, Crockett Murphy, Christopher Graddy, Jacob Lamberson, Marty Burgess and Jerry Ballard.

Joyce Ann Duncan, 51, slipped the bonds of this earth, and returned to her home Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at UAMS in Little Rock. She was born April 3, 1962, in Memphis to Martin Benton and Essie Faye Embrey Eggensperger. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1980, then went on to graduate from Arkansas State University. She was a teacher at Hoxie Public Schools for 19 years and at Jonesboro High School since 2009.
Joyce was always one of the most popular teachers, and she was especially adept at teaching students that are often hard to reach. Her skill, dedication, devotion and boundless love touched the lives of countless students. She was a teacher, a mentor and a friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Eggensperger; and brothers, Robert Eggensperger and Michael Cosper.
Survivors include her mother, Faye Eggensperger of Walnut Ridge; sons, Taylor Mackey of Walnut Ridge, and Aaron Michael Duncan of the home; brothers, Roy Eggensperger of Conway, and Martin Eggensperger of Mountain Home; sister, Carla Tabieros of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m. in the Cox-Fears Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Mackey officiating. Burial will be private for the family.

Doris Jones, 77, of North Little Rock, died Nov. 20, 2013, in North Little Rock.
Born Sept. 23, 1936, in Cumi, she was the daughter of Porter and Berti Durham Walker. She had lived in North Little Rock the past 42 years and was a member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Senior Master Sergeant Athen Jones; a son, Larry Jones; her parents; a sister, Pat Werqueyah; and an infant sister, Imogene Walker.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Jones, Memphis, and David Jones, of the home; two brothers, Bob Walker, Jacksonville, and Glen Walker, Flint, Mich.; a sister, Charlotte Phillips, Walnut Ridge; and a grandson, Michael Walker Jones.
Graveside service was Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Cemetery in Paragould under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Elizabeth B. LeaRussa, 84, of Batesville, died Nov. 24, 2013, at UAMS Regional Hospital in Little Rock.
Funeral is Friday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. and a rosary service will be at 1:30.
