WR ends season with

Chandler Ferrand passed for 237 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Conway Christian Eagles to a 36-28 win over Walnut Ridge in the first round of the 2A state football playoffs Friday night at Sexton Field. The loss ended the Bobcats' season with a 6-5 record.
Walnut Ridge jumped to a 6-0 lead on quarterback Tyler Andrew's 20-yard run with 9:08 remaining in the first quarter.
The Eagles stormed back to score 20 unanswered points on three touchdown passes from Ferrand to lead 20-6 after one period.
It was the Bobcats' turn to go on a scoring streak that would eventually put them back on top. Freshman Luke Harper scored on a 14-yard run to bring the Cats to within 20-12. Harper then scored on a two-yard run and Martin Crisler added the two-point conversion to knot the score at 20-20 at the end of the first half.
Walnut Ridge regained the lead on Andrew's one-yard keeper, and Crisler ran for his second conversion to give the Bobcats a 28-20 lead with six minutes to play in the third quarter.
Ferrand led the Eagles back with his fourth scoring pass of the evening, a 29-yarder to Casey Roark, with two minutes remaining in the period. Ferrand then ran for the conversion to tie the contest at 28-28.
Conway Christian took the lead for good with 4:26 to play in the game when Ferrand again hooked up with Roark, this time for a 10-yard toss. Ferrand found Clayton Dent for the conversion and a 36-28 Eagles' lead.
The Eagles recovered a Walnut Ridge fumble late in the game to hang on for the victory.
Harper led Walnut Ridge with 165 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Cole Hicks finished with 69 yards on 13 carries.
