The Hoxie Mustangs made short work of the Manila Lions, rolling up 41 first-quarter points en route to a 55-0 homecoming victory Friday night at Crider Field.

Gunner Cook started the Mustangs' scoring with a 67-yard run. Quarterback Cole Sears connected with Slade Sullens on scoring passes of 21 and 35 yards to boost Hoxie's lead to 21-0.

Sears scored on a 23-yard run and Cook added a 45-yard touchdown dash to make the score 34-0. Hoxie's defense then got in on the fun, as Robert Vaughn scooped up a Manila fumble and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown for the final points of the quarter.
