Mustangs beat Rivercrest

In the end, it was the Mustangs' defense that stood tallest, keeping the Colts out of the end zone, and coming up with a crucial takeaway in the fourth quarter to help secure Hoxie's 21-14 victory. Rivercrest managed just 22 yards of total offense and three first downs on the evening.
"Our defensive coaches - Brett Shrable, Chris Wagoner and Chris Murray - had a fantastic game plan. Anytime you hold a quality team
that is as dangerous as Rivercrest to 22 total yards, you have done something special," said Hoxie head coach Tom Sears.
Cats fall to EPC in overtimeWalnut Ridge's rushing attack produced over 300 yards on the ground, including 145 yards from Cole Hicks, but the Bobcats couldn't overcome numerous big plays by East Poinsett County, as the Warriors came away with a 34-28 overtime victory on Friday night at Lepanto.
Hoxie beats Newport, falls to HarrisburgHoxie hosted 3A-Northeast Conference rival Harrisburg in volleyball action on Oct. 1.
WR falls to Harrisburg, beats Ridgefield ChristianThe Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats split a pair of matches in 3A-Northeast Conference play last week. The Lady Cats defeated Ridgefield Christian early in the week, and fell to Harrisburg on Thursday.
