Tourism group visits Walnut Ridge
Jennifer Neubauer of Little Rock led a group of 18 Parks and Tourism employees who work at Welcome Centers all over Arkansas. The group toured Walnut Ridge Thursday night and Friday to become familiar with local tourist attractions.
The event, called a FAM tour, is a familiarization tour, which helped Welcome Center officials become familiar with attractions in the area. There were 14 Welcome Centers represented on the Walnut Ridge trip.
Late Thursday afternoon, they arrived at Parachute Inn for dinner and also toured the Wings of Honor Museum. Brett Cooper, Chamber of Commerce president and tourism committee member, welcomed them.Ê
On Friday morning, they visited The Venue for a breakfast catered by Kara West and her team from The Dark Side Coffee House. At The Venue, Charles Snapp shared historical facts about the building and then gave a tour of the newly opened Hotel Rhea, the Guitar Walk, Abbey Road and Beatles Park.
The tour included a stop at Art and Culture Frozen Yogurt and The Dark Side Coffee House before their final stop at Imagine, where they each received a personal bundt cake and souvenir bracelet.
