Bobcats fall to DeWitt
The Walnut Ridge Bobcats made the long road trip to face DeWitt in senior high football action on Friday. The Dragons jumped out to a 21-0 lead, en route to a 31-6 victory over the Bobcats.
Walnut Ridge's points came on a 20-yard run by Cole Hicks in the final minute of the second period, which cut DeWitt's lead to 21-6 at halftime.
The Dragons put the game away in the second half, scoring a touchdown in the third quarter, and adding a field goal in the final period.
Hicks rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for the Bobcats.
Martin Crisler led Walnut Ridge's defense with 15 tackles. Cody Reithemeyer finished with 14 tackles, and Jacob Lawson added 12.
Walnut Ridge is now 1-1 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Westside on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.
