Hoxie defeats Riverview, 28-14

Hoxie quarterback Cole Sears rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 28-14 victory over the Riverview Raiders in senior high football action Friday night at Searcy.

After a scoreless first quarter, Hoxie opened the scoring on Sears' 20-yard run at the 10-minute mark of the second period. Casey Middlecoff added the extra-point for a 7-0 Hoxie lead.

Riverview scored on a 58-yard run by Benny Watson with 6:45 to play before halftime, but failed on the conversion attempt, leaving the Mustangs in front 7-6.

Bobcats fall to DeWitt

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats made the long road trip to face DeWitt in senior high football action on Friday. The Dragons jumped out to a 21-0 lead, en route to a 31-6 victory over the Bobcats.

Lady Mustangs fall to tough
Piggott team in five sets

Hoxie's Lady Mustangs gave conference powerhouse Piggott all they could handle before falling to the Lady Mohawks in a five-set match on Thursday at Hoxie.

Lady Bobcats beat Midland,
Pocahontas, fall to Harrisburg

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats hammered Midland in senior high volleyball action Thursday at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Cats swept the three sets 25-11, 25-4, 25-6 to improve their overall record to 5-4.
