Ashley Baker of Walnut Ridge has announced the birth of a daughter on July 21, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed six pounds, eight ounces and has been named Abeleigh Hope Baker.
Grandparents are Darryl Baker of Walnut Ridge and the late Pamela Baker.
Lisa Roper of Walnut Ridge has announced the birth of a daughter on Aug. 2, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed six pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Maggie Jo Roper. She has an older sister, Mackenzie Forkum, who is two.
Grandparents are Phillip and Virginia Roper of Walnut Ridge. Mary Lee Roper of Walnut Ridge is her great-grandmother.
Ruth Mary Gramling, 89, of Paragould, died July 23, 2013, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro.
Born Nov. 25, 1923, near Delaplaine, she was the daughter of Andrew and Willie Gilbert, who later lived in the Denton area. She was a homemaker, a factory worker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bandy Gramling; three children, infant Donna Sue Gramling, Charles Wayne Gramling and Marsha Lynn Gramling; and five siblings.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Gramling and wife Betty, and Johnny Gramling and wife Merinda, all of Greene County; five siblings; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Saturday, July 27, at Warren's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Jewel Lee Justus, 89, of Paragould, died Aug. 9, 2013, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.
Born June 21, 1924, in Strawberry, he was the son of Barney Elmer and Mae Bristow Justus. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired warehouse manager at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. He was a member of Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Justus; a son, Mike Justus and wife Donna, Paragould; a daughter, Dana Thomas and husband Brad, Rector; a sister, Glenna Draffen, Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Fred Justus, Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Brandi Keedy, Billy Keedy, Brent Justus, Blake Williams and Tiffany Williams; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Monday at 11 a.m. at Greene County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.

William Dean Kissee, 81, of Hackett, died Aug. 8, 2013, in Fort Smith.
Born Jan. 10, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Henry Jefferson and Truel Ables Kissee. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a retired auto mechanic. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Marie Kissee; a son, Paul Kissee; a sister, Imogene Spitzner; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Cora Ann Tannahill, Cisne, Ill., and Nadine Hutcherson, Walnut Ridge; a son, Arthur Kissee, Fort Smith; a sister, Joan Jones, Walnut Ridge; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Burial was in the U.S. National Cemetery.

Lindell Lesley Newman, 66, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 6, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born Sept. 7, 1946, in Walnut Ridge, he was a farmer and was of the Church of Christ belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Gladys Keith Newman; a brother, Jerry Newman; and two sisters, Janet Modlin and Margie Tabone.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn P. Newman and wife Tabatha, Walnut Ridge, and Scott Godbey, Pendleton, Ind.; two daughters, Stephanie Perez, Paragould, and Angie Jones, New Castle, Ind.; a brother, Larry Newman, Bono; two sisters, Barbara Howard, Wichita, Kan., and Neva Jean, Rockford, Ill.; and eight grandchildren, Shawna Shatsar, Kelsey Vanhoozer, Moises Perez, Courtney Newman, Whitney Newman, Destiny Newman, Cody Henderson and Jacob Henderson.
Graveside service was Friday at 2 p.m. at Markham Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Durbin, Brandon Shatsar, Wayne Newman, Daniel Newman, Justin Pyles and Neal Necarse. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Shatsar, Dean Hensley, Joe Green, Timmy Modlin, Larry Newman and Brandon Modlin.

Karen Jayne Scott Olvey, 67, of Pocahontas, died Aug. 8, 2013, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Richard M. "Dick" Olvey, former branch manager of Pocahontas Federal in Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Jennifer Olvey-St. Andry and husband Tim, Shreveport, La.; two sons, Lance Richard Olvey and wife Heather and Brandon Scott Olvey and wife Enid, all of Little Rock; two brothers, Warren Eric Scott and wife DyAnne, Conway, and Timothy B. Scott and wife Kathy, Pocahontas; and five grandchildren, Alexa Dempsey, Max Olvey, Marty Olvey, Samantha Olvey and Zoe St. Andry.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Trystan St. Andry.
Funeral mass was Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Pocahontas with Fr. Athanasius Okeiyi officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Paul School Charitable Trust Fund.

Rickey Lee White, 48, of Paragould, died Aug. 7, 2013, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
He was born April 3, 1965, in Walnut Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cox; his father, Alvin White; and his parents, Charles and Rose Lee Trotter White.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Angel Spurlock, Dustin Beshears and Michael Floyd, all of Paragould; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Heath Colonial Funeral Home in Paragould. Burial was in Manning Cemetery.
