Matt and Tabitha Griggry of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a son, born on June 3, 2013, at St. Bernard's Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed five pounds, 15 ounces, and has been named Blaine Matthew Griggry. He has one sister, Chasney, eight.
Grandparents are Monty and Doris Weaver of Hoxie and Irene Griggry of Paragould and the late Gregg Griggry.
Great-grandparents are Bud Jones of Hoxie and Nadine Weaver of Walnut Ridge.
Cory and Alyson Meadors of Jonesboro have announced the birth of their first child, a son, born on May 4, 2013, at St. Bernard's Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed eight pounds, 10 ounces, and has been named Oaks Allen Meadors.
Grandparents are James and Dianne Meadors of Fort Smith and Terry Sue Passalaqua and Allen Williams, both of Walnut Ridge.
Great-grandparents are Jim and Ella Mae Meadors of Alma, Tink Williams of Minturn and Bernice Williams and Sonny Anderson, both of Walnut Ridge.
Lana Sullens and John Pyle of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a son, born May 1, 2013, at Harris Hospital in Newport.
The baby weighed seven pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Nathaniel Colt Pyle.
He has five sisters, Nikki Pyle, 17, Britney Pyle, 12, Sierra Morris, 17, Ashleigh Morris, 12, and Onyx Sullens, seven.
Grandparents are Chuck and Sue Pyle of Hoxie, Mike and Janet Sullens of Imboden and Sue Bentley of Cave City.
He is the great-grandson of Sue Sullens of Walnut Ridge and Mickie Andrews of Cave City.
David Alan Benson Jr. and Cassandra Rena Causey have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Wayne Causey and Amy Courter, both of Walnut Ridge, and is the granddaughter of Don and Twila Causey of Walnut Ridge and Nellie Lyle of Cambria, Ill., and the late Paul Lyle.
The prospective groom is the son of David and Claire Benson of Tuckerman and Ernie and Karen Brown of Knobel. He is the grandson of Ada Benson of Tuckerman and the late Walter Benson and Linden and Deanna Finney of Imboden.
The couple will exchange vows at Manley Chapel on the campus of Williams Baptist College at 6 p.m. Saturday. A reception will follow the ceremony at the Van Atkins Building on Main Street in Walnut Ridge.
All family and friends are invited to attend.

Joseph Charles Plunkett, Ph.D, P.E., 79, of Black Rock, died June 9, 2013, at Lake Charles State Park.
Born Dec. 3, 1933, in Centerville, Tenn., he was the son of Harold and Lorraine Lewis Plunkett.
His educational experience included a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, an MSEE in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech; a BSEE in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee and a B.S. in mathematics and physics from Middle Tennessee State University. He did graduate work at John Hopkins University, Northeastern University and the Florida Institute of Technology.
He worked several years as a development engineer in the defense industry at Martin Marietta Corporation, Raytheon Company and the IIT Research Institute. His accomplishments in the industry and education are documented in numerous international publications, including Marquis' Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America and the International Book of Honor. He also received numerous professional and teaching honors and awards.
He was a captain during 15 years of service in the Army Reserve/National Guard. He worked as a registered professional electrical engineer and was a retired professor of electrical engineering at California State University in Fresno. He was of the Church of Christ belief.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm L. Plunkett.
Survivors include a brother, Lloyd Donald Plunkett, Centerville, Tenn.; and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Houston, Black Rock.
A memorial service will be announced later by the family.

Brenda Joyce Warren, 57, of Hoxie, died June 5, 2013, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born June 28, 1955, in Chicago, she moved to Lawrence County in 1972. She volunteered for many different organizations and events and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Portia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Rebecca Inman Warren; and two brothers, Billy Warren and Danny Warren.
Survivors include a brother, Garry Warren and wife Patricia, Missouri; and two sisters, Patricia Warren and husband Hubert, Portia, and Doris Warren, Hoxie.
Funeral was Saturday at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Billy Mac Jones officiating. Burial was in Old Military Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Warren, Jake Warren, Josh Warren, Daniel Smith, Charlie Risenhoover and Hubert Workman. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Henson, Dalton Henson, Brandon Dillard and Eric Coffman.

Carl Whittaker Jr., 90, of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Lawrence County, died June 8, 2013.
Born April 5, 1923, he was the son of Carl Sr. and Lucinda Whittaker. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Whittaker; and a grandson, Christopher Lee Whittaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Samples and husband Joe, Ojai, Calif.; two sons, Charles Whittaker and wife Judith, Fillmore, Calif., and Rocky Whittaker and wife Sherry, Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Cindy Cobb, Sylinda Miano, Jeffrey Samples, Leslie Isom, Brian Whittaker, Bradley Whittaker, Jeremy Whittaker and Michael Whittaker; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is Wednesday, June 19, at Clover Bend Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
