Huddleston signs with Lyon
Sloan-Hendrix High School senior Madicyn Huddleston (seated, right) recently signed to play basketball for Lyon College at Batesville. Present for the event were (back, from left) Madicyn's parents, Steve and Kim Huddleston; and (seated) Tracy Lange, women's basketball coach at Lyon College.
Sloan-Hendrix High School senior Madicyn Huddleston will continue her basketball career as a Lady Scot after signing her commitment to play for Lyon College on April 22 at Bill McCurley Gymnasium.
SHHS head coach Scott Nichols said Huddleston averaged 12.3 points per game her senior season, as well as six rebounds per game, making her the leading rebounder for the Lady Greyhounds.
"Madicyn has the ability to score from the inside, as well as the outside from behind the three-point line," Nichols said. "She plays a very aggressive style, which will benefit her at the next level. I look forward to having a Sloan-Hendrix graduate represented on the Lyon College team."
Lyon women's basketball coach Tracy Lange traveled to Imboden for the signing, and Huddleston said she is very excited to be preparing to play for Lange.
"Words can not describe how lucky and blessed I am to not only continue my education at Lyon College, but to continue my basketball career as well," Huddleston said. "I'm thankful for the opportunity and hope I can represent myself and the team in a positive way."
Huddleston is the daughter of Steve and Kim Huddleston. Also on hand for her signing were her sister, Alycyn Huddleston; her uncle, Pardo Roberts; and her nieces, Blythe Wallis and Amelia Lawrey.
