WR TRACKSTERS ADVANCE - Walnut Ridge's Isaac Sosbe competes in the long jump at the district track meet. He advanced to compete at today's state track meet at Fort Smith Southside, along with Caroline Kelley, Anna Bland, Anna Fender, Madison Cox, Jodie Reithemeyer, Alyssa Leatherman, Doug Sosbe, Dylan Smith, Kyle Smith, Shelby Wake, Chase Flippo, Tyler Binkley and Edward Harthorn.

Hillcrest track members advance to state meet
Hillcrest High School will have eight senior high track athletes competing at the 1A state track meet in Texarkana today (Wednesday) after winning either first or second place at the 1A-4 district track meet in Kennett, Mo., on April 24.
Zach Doyle, Colman Evans, Sara Morse, Hunter Nunnally, Harrison Powell, Corey Richey, Aaron Helms and Katelyn Richey will represent the school at the state meet. Nunnally also received the High Point Award in the men's division at the district meet.

Hoxie athletes advance to state
Two Hoxie track athletes qualified for the 3A State Track Meet scheduled for Thursday at Green Forest High School.
The Sloan-Hendrix senior high track teams competed in the 2A-2 District Meet on April 22 at Pocahontas.

The Hoxie baseball team wrapped up its season with an 11-4 loss to Piggott in the 3A-3 District Tournament on Thursday at Manila.
WR defeats Westside
Payton Poole went 4-for-4, including three doubles, and drove in two runs, as the Walnut Ridge Bobcats defeated Westside 14-1 in high school baseball action on April 23 at Westside.
Lady Mustangs end season
The Hoxie Lady Mustang softball team concluded the 2013 season with a pair of games in the 3A-3 District Tournament on Thursday at Piggott.

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcat softball team hosted the 2A-2 District Tournament at Stewart Park.
Huddleston signs with Lyon
Sloan-Hendrix High School senior Madicyn Huddleston will continue her basketball career as a Lady Scot after signing her commitment to play for Lyon College on April 22 at Bill McCurley Gymnasium.
