CHAMBER HOSTS POWER BREAKFAST - Don Cavenaugh (from left), owner of Cavenaugh Auto Group, visits with David Coker of Coker Insurance and Williams Baptist College President Dr. Thomas Jones Tuesday morning during the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce's first Power Breakfast, which was hosted by Caveanaugh Chevrolet, GMC, Buick in Walnut Ridge. The event, similar to Business After Hours events that have been planned by the Chamber, was held from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

WR passes hazardous driving ordinance

The Walnut Ridge City Council passed a hazardous driving ordinance and repealed its current zoning regulation ordinance at its meeting on April 9.

WBC board of trustees learns about strategic plan

The board of trustees at Williams Baptist College heard about the school's new strategic plan at its regularly scheduled meeting on Friday. The board also approved a $10.5 million budget for the upcoming school year and affirmed the promotion of two faculty members.

Stan Jones Mallard Lodge
hosts regional tourism banquet

The new Stan Jones Mallard Lodge at Clover Bend, which opened in the fall of 2012, was host Thursday evening to the annual Leo Rainey Tourism Appreciation Banquet for the Ozark Gateway Region.
