Walnut Ridge and Sloan-Hendrix met in 2A-2 Conference baseball and softball action on Thursday.
On the baseball diamond, Walnut Ridge shut out the Greyhounds 10-0 at Imboden.
The Bobcats plated two runs in the first inning and four in the second for an early 6-0 lead. They added one run in the fourth inning, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Range Weeks started on the mound for the Bobcats and improved his record to 5-0 on the season. Weeks tossed his second no-hitter of the season and did not issue a walk. He also struck out seven batters. A defensive error allowed the Greyhounds their only baserunner.
At the plate, Hunter Flippo had three hits and four RBIs. Eric Wilcoxson had three hits and scored three runs. Cole Hicks had two hits and scored three runs. Zach Crisler, Rowdy Ditto, Lane Kennedy, Payton Poole and weeks each had one hit. Hicks and Crisler each had an RBI.
Also on Thursday, the Lady Bobcats and Lady Greyhounds met in a softball doubleheader in Walnut Ridge.
The Lady Cats won the opener 4-2 and took the second game 10-4.
In the first game, Hannah Massey went 3-for-3 and scored two runs for Walnut Ridge. Whitney Rider went 2-for-2. Ranie Robinett and Chloe Rice each had one hit and scored a run, and Maggie Jackson had a hit.
Robinett earned the pitching victory.
In the second game, the Walnut Ridge bats produced 10 runs on 10 hits. Sabrina Knight went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Robinett went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Baylee Bridges had two hits and scored a run. Makayla Daniels had a hit and scored two runs. Massey had one hit and scored one run. Rice had a hit and scored a run, and Ashlyn Cothern scored a run.
