SPRING BREAK SNOW - Lawrence County students received a surprise during their spring break when anywhere from four to six inches of snow fell throughout the county on Thursday evening. This scene at Stewart Park in Walnut Ridge shows the contract of spring blossoms with snow. There were some power outages, but snow did not accumulate on the roadways.

Hoxie mayor
praises citizens

The March Hoxie City Council meeting began on a somber note with Mayor Lanny Tinker sending out thoughts and prayers for Sidney Randall and family.

New coordinator named
in search for Randall

The search for 14-year-old Sidney Randall of Walnut Ridge has entered yet another phase with the naming of Buddy Williams, head of the Lawrence County Dive Team and a reserve deputy, as the new search coordinator.

Tickets available for tourism
banquet at Mallard Lodge

Tickets are now available for the Ozark Gateway Tourist Council's annual banquet, which will be held April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Stan Jones Mallard Lodge near Hoxie.

Williams receives
10-year accreditation

Williams Baptist College has received a full, 10-year extension of its accreditation. The Higher Learning Commission recently concluded its regular review of Williams and notified the college that it found no concerns to be addressed over the next decade.
