Preston and Tarah Duboise of Trumann have announced the birth of a daughter, born on Feb. 13, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed five pounds, 13 ounces, and has been named JessLynn Sue Denise Duboise. She has one sibling, a brother, Gage RipLee Duboise.

Grandparents are Jessie and Maria Clairday and George and Pam Duboise. Great-grandparents are Bob and Anna Lowery, Edward and Macil Fortson and Charles Duboise.

Aubrey Kate Hogan

Michael and Marissa Hogan of Pocahontas have announced the birth of their first child, a daughter, born on Feb. 14, 2013, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds and has been named Aubrey Kate Hogan.

Grandparents are Mitch and Teresa Baltz of Powhatan and Jerry and Judy Littleton and Ronald Hogan, all of Pocahontas.

She is the great-granddaughter of Gloria Lewis and Aldean Hogan, both of Pocahontas, and Ron and Glenda Faught of Mt. Pleasant. Great-great- grandmother is Elda Faught of Olathe, Kans.

Samuel Reed McDaniel

Doug and Natalie McDaniel of Bono have announced the birth of a son on Feb. 14, 2013, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed six pounds, four ounces, and has been named Samuel Reed McDaniel.

He has an older sibling, Railee McDaniel, who is six.

Grandparents are Jane Atherton, Dave Atherton and Clark and Angela McDaniel, all of Jonesboro, John and Kathryn Boothe of Ravenden Springs and Toni and Karen Davis of Batesville.

He is the great-grandson of Bob and Linda Holland of Bono and Mickey and Irene Hampton of Walnut Ridge.

James C. Baldwin

James C. "Sonny" Baldwin, born Aug. 13, 1933, in Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 28, 2013, in Prosperity, S.C.

A memorial service will be held on May 18, followed by a celebration of his life at a time and location to be announced.

Donald Eugene Dickison

Donald Eugene "Butch" Dickison, 74, of Strawberry, died Feb. 23, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born June 11, 1938, in Brawley, Calif., he had lived most of his life in Lawrence County and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn. He retired from GDX Manufacturing in Batesville in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vida Bellamy Dickison; and three brothers, Hardaway Dickison, Vaughn Dickison and George Lee Dickison.

Survivors include his wife, Lanoe Dickison; three daughters, Janie Watson, Jesup, Barbie Mayland and husband Stanley, Strawberry, and Kellie Cooper and husband Eric, Calamine; two sisters, Frances Campbell, Spring Valley, Calif., and Helen Oliver and husband Jim, Lynn; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn with Josh Mayland and Terry Neeley officiating. Burial was in Saffell Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn.

Pallbearerss were Blake Howard, Brice Howard, Jake Mayland, Steve Oliver, Danny Holder and Renny Holder. Honorary pallbearers were Blaine Howard, Tyler Cooper, Jonny Howard, Charles Vaulner, Ranny Oliver, Terry Dickison and Chance Baxter.

Larado Jonny King

Larado Jonny King, infant son of Jonathan and Susanna Rose King of Strawberry, died Feb. 18, 2013, at a Batesville hospital.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Elwood King.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his grandmother, Freda King, Pennsylvania; and his grandparents, Wayne and Eldora Miller, Grand Junction, Colo.

Funeral was Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Strawberry Mennonite Church at Jesup with Philip Mast, Galen Hoover and Joseph Bauman officiating. Burial was in Jesup Cemetery with Ernie Yoder officiating. Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Logan Mast and Llewy Miller.

Arliss Blanding Lamew

Arliss Blanding Lamew, 84, of Gulfport, Miss., formerly of Walnut Ridge, died Feb. 20, 2013, at his home.

Born May 28, 1928, in Paragould, he was the son of Claud Edgar and Eppie Maggie Price Lamew. He worked for Colson Caster Co. for 39 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Lamew; and a sister-in-law, Norma Lamew.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Lea Waddell Lamew, whom he married Dec. 12, 1964, in Light; two daughters, Denise Bryant, Marion, Texas, and Susan Sabio and husband Ben, Gulfport, Miss.; his wife's brother and sister, whom they raised, Kelly Waddell and wife Joyce, Walnut Ridge; and Mona Helms and husband Danny, Conway; grandchildren, Jacob Sabio, Joseph Sabio, Dorian Davis, Gwenyth Sulphin, Zachary Bryant, Caleb Bryant, Jennifer Hart, Blake Waddell, Lanisa Hernandez, Laura Thacker and Garrett Helms; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Don Winfrey officiating. Guest speakers were David Harper and Ben Sabio. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Walcott under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Mitch Little, Terry Spradlin, Harvey Noblin, John Holsapple, David Segraves and Don Alls. Honorary pallbearers were Marion Gramling, Alvin Miller, the Senior Center lunch group and past Colson co-workers.

Ethel Marie Lawson

Ethel Marie Lawson, 98, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Imboden, died Feb. 21, 2013, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab.

Born Nov. 4, 1914, at Pauls Switch, she was the daughter of Walter and Cora Mamie Medsker Dunham. She was a homemaker and seamstress and was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Imboden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lawson; two sons, Robert High and Bobby J. High; two daughters, Joanne High and Arlene Sellers; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Franks, Ravenden, and Pauline Brown, Puxico, Mo.; a sister, Sally Jane VanWinkle, Imboden; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home with Chris Madison officiating. Burial was private.

Wilma Rogers

Wilma Virginia Rogers, 80, of Hoxie, died Feb. 25, 2013, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born Nov. 20, 1932, in Swifton, she was the daughter of William Henry and Lacy Mae Johnson Lacy. She retired from the Department of Human Services and was a pharmacy clerk for Rogers Pharmacy. She was a member of New Vision Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge and Charles Chapter 410 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Rogers; a sister, Claudia Gordon; and a grandchild, Chris Light.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. James T. Rogers and wife Lori, Springfield, Mo., and Bryian Rogers and wife Tina, Jonesboro; a daughter, Alice Leonora Light, Hoxie; a sister, Lanita Dickerson and husband Dick, Hoxie; seven grandchildren, Angie Douglas, Zachary Light, Ginny Rogers, Ben Rogers, Maggie Rogers, Reid Rogers, Raney Rogers and Ryan Rogers; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today from 12:30-2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home. Funeral will follow with Bob Kary officiating. Burial will be in Swifton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brody VanWinkle, Tanner Jarrett, John Jenness, Dennis Wijaya, Ken Powell and Dennis Coggins. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Julia V. Smith

Julia V. Smith, 83, of the Stanford community, died Feb. 20, 2013, at her home.

Born Feb. 19, 1930, in Charlotte, she was the daughter of Layman and Pearl Jones Herring. She lived in Lawrence County most of her life and had worked at Lawrence Manufacturing. She was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Smith; a sister, Sue Hill; a son-in-law, Larry Sisk; and a grandson, William Nathan Henson.

Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Sisk, Walnut Ridge, and Lesa Gramling, Stanford; five sons, William "Bill" Lawson, Sidney, Terry Lawson, Lynn, Gary Lawson, Eaton, Sandy Smith, Cave City, and Todd Lawson, Batesville; two sisters, Jan Dujardin, Maryland, and Phyllis Brady, Springdale; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with O.D. Winfrey officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joey Tillman, Nathan Henson, Telly Lawson, Craig Lawson, Brian Richey and Matthew Hollister.

Inez Wagoner

Inez Wagoner, 66, of Strawberry, died Feb. 24, 2013, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Oct. 11, 1946, in Newport, she lived most of her life in Lawrence County. She and her husband owned and operated a sawmill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Onzo Sr. and Sylvia Yarber Vinson; three brothers, Donald Vinson, Jerry Vinson and Paul Vinson; and a sister, Lucille Blankenship.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Wagoner; three sons, Ronald Wagoner, Gary Wagoner and Kenneth Wagoner and wife Christina, all of Strawberry; a daughter, April Wagoner, Strawberry; a brother, Onzo Vinson Jr., Sulphur Rock; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Lynn with Roger Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery near Strawberry.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Adams, Jimmy Huskey, Randy Polston, Donnie Vinson, Vinnie Todd and Rick Clem.

Emma Woods

Emma Evelyn Woods, 69, of Clover Bend, died Feb. 23, 2013, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Nov. 4, 1943, in Bono, she was a housewife and was of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Connor.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry Woods; two sons, Darriel Woods and wife Gina, and Danny Woods and wife Jennifer, all of Clover Bend; three daughters, Laura Teel and husband Kenny, Pocahontas, Vickie Buchanan, Douglas, Ga., and Ronna Woods, Clover Bend; her mother, Mildred Connor, Walnut Ridge; a brother, Terry Connor, Trumann; four sisters, Linda Burgess, Tuckerman, Brenda Matheson, Walnut Ridge, and Lana Brumley and Effie Morgan, both of Clover Bend; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Woods, Dustin Woods, Taylor Woods, Jessica Waldrup, Allison Carter, Breanna Roberson, Ashley Williams, Andrea Meeks, Karman Weaver, Blake Buchanan and Lee Buchanan; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Brumley officiating. Burial was in Clover Bend Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Danny Woods, Allen Freer, Donnie Morgan, Brian Brumley, Tim Brown and Jerry Burchfield. Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Woods, Blake Buchanan, Chris Lane, Kenny Teel, Shannon Brumley and Zavian Brumley.
