BR basketball season ends

The senior high basketball seasons came to an end for Black Rock last week, as the Zebras and Lady Zebras suffered defeats in the 1A-3 East District Tournament at Bay.

Second-seeded Weiner jumped out to a 39-23 halftime lead and went on to defeat Black Rock 68-53 on Feb. 11.

The Zebras cut the margin to 10 points, 52-42 after three periods, but were unable to overtake the Cardinals in the final period.

Matthew Wilkins scored 15 points, and Ryan Roberts had 11 for Black Rock.

Christian Ervin scored 20 points in the girls' 66-42 loss to Armorel on Feb. 12.
