Hillcrest earns wins

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles dominated the second half en route to a 62-42 victory over Mammoth Spring in 1A-2 North girls basketball on Jan. 22 at Lynn.

Hillcrest led 10-7 after one quarter and 22-21 at halftime. The Lady Eagles began to pull away after the break, widening the margin to 12 points, 36-24, after three periods.

Lindsey Crews scored 20 points to lead Hillcrest. Kathryn Tidwell had 11 points, and Stacy Maxwell added 10.

The Hillcrest junior girls fell to Mammoth Spring 40-18.

Senior boys

In senior boys action, Hillcrest routed Mammoth 73-43.

The Eagles led 19-8 at the end of the first quarter, 39-21 at halftime and 59-34 after three periods.

Colman Evans had 21 points, and Evan Doyle had 18 for Hillcrest. Hunter Nunnally had 12 points, and Jeremiah Turner had 13 rebounds.
