WR sweeps Black Rock

Walnut Ridge defeated Black Rock 70-49 in senior boys basketball action Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium.

Walnut Ridge led 35-21 at halftime and 54-35 after three quarters.

Payton Poole and Hunter Flippo each had 13 points, and Matt Cox added 12 for the Bobcats.

Black Rock was led by Matthew Wilkins' 14 points, while Caleb McKenzie finished with 12 points.

The Walnut Ridge junior boys defeated Black Rock 60-34.

Senior girls

The Walnut Ridge senior girls defeated Black Rock 68-48 on Jan. 21 at Black Rock.

The teams were tied 11-11 after one period, but the Lady Cats played a strong second quarter to move out to a 33-18 advantage at the half.

Hannah Massey led Walnut Ridge with 21 points. Holly Looney finished with 11 points, and Allyson McQuay had 10 points.

The Lady Zebras were led by Christian Ervin's 16 points.

The Walnut Ridge junior girls defeated Black Rock 44-17.
