Jones urges leaders to
be good communicators

After a lapse of several years, a new Leadership Lawrence County class has completed the adult leadership program. Class VIII held its graduation Thursday in conjunction with a noon quarterly meeting of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

WR adopts '13 budget

The Walnut Ridge City Council met on Monday to adopt the annual budget. The council appropriated a total of $2,296,713 for 2013.

Portia man killed in accident

A Portia man was killed in a two-vehicle accident at Sedgwick on Monday evening, according to Cpl. Phillip Roark with the Arkansas State Police.

New Red Wolves director visits area

Carter Ford, the new executive director of the ASU Red Wolves Foundation, was in the area Friday encouraging local folks to be part of the Red Wolves Rising.

Cooper to lead Chamber in 2013

Dr. Brett Cooper, who serves as vice president for institutional advancement at Williams Baptist College, is taking on a second term as chair of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Board.
