Mustangs are runners-up
in Swifton Kell Classic

The Hoxie senior boys basketball team advanced to the finals of the Kell Classic, held last week at Swifton.

The Mustangs fell to Bay 85-61 in the boys final on Saturday.

Tristan Privett led Hoxie with 22 points. Jacob Defries scored 15 points, and Colton Watson added 12.

Hoxie edged Cave City 65-62 in a semifinal contest on Friday.

Watson had 26 points for the second time in the tournament, and Defries had 21 for the Mustangs.

Watson also rang up 26 points in Hoxie's 61-50 win over Izard County Consolidated on Jan. 7

The Rector Cougars defeated Walnut Ridge 57-44 in senior boys basketball on Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium.
