Screamin' Eagles defeat Highland

Hillcrest's Zach Doyle out-dueled Highland's Avery Johnson in leading the Screamin' Eagles to an 85-77 win over the Rebels in senior boys basketball action Friday at Lynn.

The game featured several lead changes, Highland leading 26-21 after one quarter. The Eagles overtook their visitors in the second period to lead 41-38 at the break. Highland regained the lead in the second half and carried a slim 59-57 advantage into the fourth quarter. Hillcrest controlled the final period, outscoring the Rebels 28-18 to pull away for the win.

Doyle finished with 45 points, while Johnson finished with 34.

Jeremiah Turner added 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Colman Evans had 11 points for Hillcrest.

The Screamin' Eagles improved to 18-3 with the win.
