Hillcrest earns win at Hoxie
Nathan Hibbard Colman Evans scored 29 first-half points to lead the Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles to a 91-75 victory over Hoxie Thursday night at Hoxie. The Eagles jumped out to a 28-17 lead after one quarter and led 49-40 at halftime. Hoxie rallied to cut Hillcrest's lead to 65-61 at the end of the third quarter, but a 26-14 run by the Eagles in the final period sealed the win. Evans finished with 33 points for the game, while Zach Doyle rang up 23 points. Hunter Nunnally scored 15 points, and Jeremiah Turner grabbed 11 rebounds. Colton Watson led four Mustangs in double figures, with 17 points. Seth Hart scored 15 points, while Tristan Privett and Slade Sullens added 12 points apiece. Hillcrest improved to 16-3 with the win, while the Mustangs dropped to 6-5.
Hoxie won a junior boys contest 48-36. Jared Bristow had 15 points for Hillcrest.
