Hillcrest sweeps S-H

Hillcrest hosted Sloan-Hendrix in high school basketball action on Dec. 11.

Hillcrest prevailed in the senior boys contest 63-32.

The Screamin' Eagles led 21-10 after one quarter, 36-19 at halftime and 59-27 after three periods.

Colman Evans had 22 points to lead Hillcrest, while Zach Doyle and Jeremiah Turner scored 12 points apiece.

Chris Taylor had 16 points for Sloan-Hendrix.

The Hillcrest senior girls got off to a fast start and went on to defeat the Lady Greyhounds 67-40.

begins Thursday

The 66th Northeast Arkansas Invitational Basketball Tournament gets underway Thursday at the ASU Convocation Center in Jonesboro. Three teams from Lawrence County will be competing in this year's event.
