Hillcrest sweeps S-H
Hillcrest hosted Sloan-Hendrix in high school basketball action on Dec. 11. Hillcrest prevailed in the senior boys contest 63-32. The Screamin' Eagles led 21-10 after one quarter, 36-19 at halftime and 59-27 after three periods. Colman Evans had 22 points to lead Hillcrest, while Zach Doyle and Jeremiah Turner scored 12 points apiece. Chris Taylor had 16 points for Sloan-Hendrix.
The Hillcrest senior girls got off to a fast start and went on to defeat the Lady Greyhounds 67-40.

The 66th Northeast Arkansas Invitational Basketball Tournament gets underway Thursday at the ASU Convocation Center in Jonesboro. Three teams from Lawrence County will be competing in this year's event.
