WBC Tourney underway
Action is underway in the 54th annual Williams Baptist College Tournament at the Southerland-Mabee Center on WBC's campus. Seven games were on tap Saturday, with three more games played on Monday.
Saturday's results included:
Cade Niswonger scored 26 points to lead the Tuckerman Bulldogs over Southside 51-40. Stephen Norris led Southside with 13 points.
The Corning Lady Bobcats defeated Black Rock 68-27. Christian Ervin had a game-high 17 points for Black Rock.
The Pocahontas boys advanced with a 60-24 win over Black Rock. Caleb McKenzie and Matt Wilkins each had six points for Black Rock.
Hoxie's Lady Mustangs cruised to an 81-56 win over the Viola Lady Longhorns.
For Hoxie, Brandy All had 19 points, and Maddison Woodard added 17. Krista Coffell finished with 16 points, and Courtney Sears scored 15.
The Marmaduke Greyhounds advanced with a 55-46 win over Corning. Eddie Page scored 19 points, and Hayden Winberry had 18 for the Greyhounds. Trevor Barajas led Corning with 18 points.
Britney Wolfe scored 22 points to lead Sloan-Hendrix's Lady Greyhounds past Hillcrest 67-54. Madicyn Huddleston followed with 12 points. Katie Castleberry and Shayla Dickson each had eight points for the Lady Greyhounds.
Lindsey Crews scored 14 points, while Caitlyn Whitmire had eight points, and Katelyn Richey added seven for Hillcrest.
The Riverside Rebels defeated the Sloan-Hendrix boys 68-48.
Blake Bennet led Sloan-Hendrix with 13 points. Keith Saylors and Jordan Johnson each had 11 points for the Greyhounds.

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated Tuckerman 66-44.
Audrey McElrath led the Lady Cats with 17 points. Tiye Flowers scored 14 points, and Anna Bland added nine for Walnut Ridge.
Hanna Dilday and Sara Shipman had 12 points apiece for Tuckerman.
The Pocahontas Lady Redskins defeated the Sloan-Hendrix girls 70-53.
Huddleston had 18 points, and Wolfe added 12 for Sloan-Hendrix.
Colman Evans scored 30 points to lead the Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles to a 74-63 win over Tuckerman.
Also for Hillcrest, Zach Doyle had 20 points, Jeremiah Turner scored 10, and Hunter Nunally added eight points.
Branson Barnett led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Derek Dean followed with 15, and Niswonger added 13. Spencer Shannon scored 11 points.
