Hillcrest girls beat Hoxie
The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles defeated Hoxie 57-53 in senior girls basketball action Tuesday at Hoxie, despite a 31-point performance by the Lady Mustangs' Brandi Alls.
Hillcrest led 16-15 after one quarter and 26-23 at halftime. The game was tied 38-38 after three periods.
Lindsey Crews and Katelyn Richey each scored 11 points, and Shea Durham had 10 for Hillcrest.
Bekah Kopp scored 17 points as Hoxie's junior girls defeated Hillcrest 48-16.
Hillcrest won a seventh-grade girls contest 17-13. Shelby Hoggard had seven points for Hillcrest.
Hillcrest hosted 1A-2 North Conference opponent Norfork Friday night at Lynn.
The Hillcrest senior boys defeated the Panthers 68-59, as four Screamin' Eagles hit for double figures.
Colman Evans, Jeremiah Turner and Hunter Nunnally each scored 15 points, and Zach Doyle added 13 for Hillcrest.
Hillcrest improved to 2-1 in conference play and 6-1 overall.
Norfork's junior boys defeated Hillcrest 52-47.
In senior girls action, Norfork played a strong fourth quarter to hand the Lady Eagles their first conference setback of the season, 56-45.
Crews had 17 points to lead Hillcrest, who trailed just 38-35 heading into the final period.
The Lady Eagles fell to 2-1 in conference play and 5-3 overall.
Dylan Nunnally poured in 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Hillcrest junior high boys to a 47-27 win over Mammoth Spring on Nov. 5.
Walker Morgan added eight rebounds and four assists for the junior Eagles.
Mammoth Spring won a junior girls game 36-10, a seventh-grade boys contest 17-16 and a seventh-grade girls game 15-9.
