Walk of Hope raises $3,000
Carolyn Fowler, who helped organize the event, estimated that 100 people participated in the walk. Among the walkers were groups of Girl Scouts from Lawrence and Randolph counties. Jackie Wallis of the American Cancer Society was also present for the event and handed out water to walkers.
Registered participants received Lawrence County Walk of Hope T-shirts that stated, "Imagine there's no cancer."
