Lawrence County voters will join others nationwide in casting their ballots in the presidential election on Tuesday.
In addition, all Lawrence County voters will have the following races on their ballots:
- U.S. Congress District 1: Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington (D), Jessica Paxton (L), Jacob Holloway (G), Congressman Rick Crawford (R).
- State Senate, District 20: State Senator Robert Thompson (D), Blake Johnson (R).
- State Representative, District 60: Rep. James Ratliff (D), Ronald Cavenaugh (R).
- Sheriff, Jody Dotson (D), Ezra M. Pierce (I).
In addition, there are several local races that will be on the ballot of those who live within the respective district or city.
County Clerk Tina Stowers said interest in the election seems to be high.
"Early voting has been going very well," she said. "We've had a good turnout with almost 1,000 having already cast ballots."
Early voting continues today through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The polls will be open on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Polling sites can also be found in the election proclamation.
