CROP MEETING HELD - Rodney Floyd (from left), a Walnut Ridge farmer, visits with Bryce Anderson of Syngenta, Caleb Wall of Lawrence County Seed and Don Alls of Farm Service, Inc. during a fall row crop meeting on Tuesday. The meeting, which was held in the Lawrence County Meeting Room in Walnut Ridge, was hosted by the Extension Services in Lawrence and Randolph counties. Extension specialists shared information about soybeans, rice and corn.

Wilcoxson treated to hero's weekend D.C. Honor Tour

Frank Wilcoxson of Walnut Ridge has experienced a weekend fit for a hero. A Korean War veteran, Wilcoxson was privileged to be part of an Oct. 19-21 Honor Tour to Washington, D.C.

327 flu shots given at clinic

A total of 327 people received the flu vaccine at a mass flu clinic held Friday at the Lawrence County Health Unit in Walnut Ridge.

NEARIFA discusses peanuts,
tentative plans for next year

Several representatives from the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority (NEARIFA) will meet with other intermodal members from around the state on Nov. 19 in Little Rock. Executive director Wayne Gearhart of Pocahontas told local members at their regular meeting on Oct. 25 that he expects that meeting to be a good networking opportunity.

Imboden natives
die in accident

An Oct. 23 accident claimed the lives of two sisters, Felecia Jo Davis, 25, of Trumann, and Andrea Renee Benham, 22, of Manila, natives of Imboden, and Davis's unborn son, Zaden Wayne.
