Justin and Natalie Ezell of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of their first child, a son, born on Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Bernard's Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed 11 pounds, four ounces, and has been named Hudson James Ezell.
Grandparents are Randy and Sally Golden and Sherry Ezell, all of Walnut Ridge, and the late Herman Ezell.
He is the great-grandson of Ed Golden of Walnut Ridge.
Logan Morse and Harmony Herron, both of Bono, have announced the birth of a daughter, born on Sept. 17, 2012, at St. Bernard's Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces, and has been named Jadelyn Makenzie Morse.
Grandparents are Cindy Morse of Jonesboro, Michael and Jackie Morse of Pocahontas, Wade and Taffy Moser of Calico Rock and George Jr. and Angela Herron of Mountain Home.
Great-grandparents are Brenda Morse of Walnut Ridge, David and Katherine Smithson of Brockwell and George Sr. and Evelyn Herron of Mountain Home.
Derick and Kemberly Roberts of Camp Lejeune, N.C., have announced the birth of their first child, a son, born on Sept. 25, 2012.
The baby weighed eight pounds, five ounces, and has been named Reeve Magnus Roberts.
Grandparents are Kevin and Kim Roberts of Hoxie and Kenneth and Sharrion Walker of Payneway.
Leonard Lavelle Bass, 74, of Fontaine, died Sept. 27, 2012, at his home.
Born Nov. 24, 1937, at Fontaine, he was a veteran of the United States Navy, a carpenter and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Myrtle Prock Bass; a brother, Gerome Bass; and a sister, Charlotte Lamb.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Kennedy Bass, whom he married Oct. 6, 1969; five daughters, Angie Stuart, Walnut Ridge, Lisa Lane, Bono, Jamie Barnes, Bay, and Tammy Kessler and Sherry Jacobs, both of St. Louis; a son, Thomas Bass, St. Louis; a brother, Winford Bass, Fontaine; a sister, Barbara South, Sedgwick; 14 grandchildren, Cody White, Hunter Reynolds, Taylor Barnes, Brice Lane, Braden Lane, Thomas Bass, Timothy Bass, Oceania Jacobs, Angie Jacobs, Ashley Jacobs, Sky Kessler, Haley Bass Nicole Bass and Melissa Bass; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Old Military Cemetery with Bro. James Strait officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Eric Strope, Bryan Barnes, Blake Lane, Jesse Willey, Bill Brown and Billy Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers were Benny Martin and Ray Dancer.

Iva Lou Gilbert Capps, 87, of Ash Flat, formerly of Walnut Ridge, passed on Sept. 28, 2012.
Iva was born Sept. 2, 1925, to Andrew and Willie Emma Gilbert in Smithville. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.
In addition to her parents, Iva was preceded in death by her husband H.J. Capps; sisters, Betty Jo Isbell and Goldie Steele; brother, Andrew Gilbert; and great-grandaughter, Riley Monson.
She is survived by her children, Andrew (Toni) Shewmaker of Joliet, Ill., Pat (Don) Eigenheer of Channahon, Ill., Dan (Pearline) Shewmaker of Henderson; grandchildren, Richard King, Jennifer (Troy) Monson, Kevin (Amanda) Shewmaker and Ashley (Wes) Minton; great-grandchildren; William King, Kaia, Ronan and Drake Monson, Aubrey and Aiden Shewmaker and Gianna Brewer; sisters, Ruth Gramling and Lizzie Capps; brothers, Charlie (Bev), Bob (Wilma), Jack (Mary), John (Dorothy), and Tom (Gail).

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Services will immediately follow visitation with Harold Russell and Hershel Conley officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethal Cemetery near Denton.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard King, Kevin Shewmaker, Wesley Minton; nephews, Johnny Gramling, Marvin Gilbert and Robert Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Isabell and Gary Gramling.

Cloa Mimigene Crotts Carter Cason, 75, of Smithville, died Sept. 26, 2012, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
Born Nov. 13, 1936, at Petit Jean Mountain, she was a homemaker and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Therman S. Carter; two sons, Therman Carter Jr. and Albert Dean Carter; her parents, Troy Elijah Crotts and Mattie Marie Hubbard; two brothers, Norben Crotts and Forest Crotts; and two grandchildren, Kari Massey and Donnie Hall.
Survivors include her husband, Luril R. Cason, whom she married April 20, 1981, in Marshall; three daughters, Shirley Ann Naylor and husband Bill, Harrisburg, Connie Sue Hall and husband A.D., Black Rock, and Imogene Walters and husband Gary, Indianapolis; three stepchildren, Doug Cason, Becky Cason and Kathy Cooper, all of Tuckerman; a brother, Edward Earl Crotts, Arkansas; three sisters, Flora Mae Bowden, Arkansas, Patsy Ann Frank, California, and Sherry Lynn Bartlett, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Townsend Cemetery in Smithville with Jim Huskey officiating. Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge had charge of arrangements.

James Edward Danley, 70, of Paragould, father of Jimmy Danley of Walnut Ridge, died Oct. 2, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Jessie Davis, 94, of Smithville, died Sept. 28, 2012, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Born Feb. 16, 1918, at Denton, she was the daughter of Calvin and Marylou Jeans Bolding. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a homemaker. She was a member of the Anchor EHC, the Smithville Party Girls Tea Club and Smithville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Davis; two sons, Felix Wayne Davis and Billy Carter Davis; a great-grandson, Zacheriah Davis; and several siblings.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Jimi Davis and wife Tammi, Herman, Neb., Lori Krepps and husband Bob, Booneville, and Deanna Brannon and husband Mark, Lynn; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Davis, Booneville; and eight great-grandchildren, Jovi Davis, Jennifer Kephart, Jessie Kephart, Justina Kephart, Lauren Krepps, Jacob Krepps, Billy Brannon and Cody Brannon.
Funeral is today at 11 a.m. at the Smithville Baptist Church with Harold Russell officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Thacker, Wesley Russell, J.C. Russell, Ronald Ring, Thomas Russell and Jimmy Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Bolding, John Lillard, Larry Thatcher, Galen Burleson, Johnny Bookout and Henry Holeman and her great-grandchildren.

Ann Lively, 58, of Paragould, died Sept. 26, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born Feb. 17, 1954, she was an LPN II and of the protestant belief.
She was preceded in death by her father, Neal Ingram; and a brother, Larry Ingram.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Lively; a daughter, Tammy Vaughn, Hoxie; five sons, Anthony Lively and William Lively, both of Paragould, Sean Wells, Las Vegas, Teddy Wells, Pocahontas, and Jeremy Wells, Jonesboro; her mother, Gladys Ingram, Jonesboro; three brothers, Jimmy Ingram, Paragould, Rick Ingram, Walnut Ridge, and Randy Ingram, Jonesboro; two sisters, Linda Brand, Jonesboro, and Neala Jean McFarland, Bay; 10 grandchildren, Kyle Radcliff, Kolbey Gates, Dannie Vaughn, Gannon Vaughn, Riley Cole, Addie Vaughn, Elizabeth Lively, Edward Lively, Kala Wells, Rachel Wells; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Chad Robinson officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
