WRHS has two new teachers
Walnut Ridge High School has two new teachers for the 2012-13 school year.
Joey Rice is the new agriculture teacher, and Jay Wilkins is teaching Spanish.
Rice, who is a native of Delaplaine, has a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He previously taught at Delaplaine and Oak Ridge Central.
He and his wife, Michelle, live in Pocahontas and have a son, Hunter, who is two-and-half-years old.
Wilkins has a bachelor's degree in music education from Henderson State University and a master's degree in music education from ASU. He previously served as a band director for 14 years and Spanish teacher for six years, most recently teaching at Riverview High School in Searcy and Hillcrest School District in Lynn and Strawberry.
A native of North Little Rock, he and his wife, Jeannie Marie, live at Smithville, where he is the pastor of Smithville Baptist Church. They have two grown children, Jason, and wife, Emmali, and Jennifer, and husband, Matthew, and a daughter, Jasmine, who is a third-grader at Walnut Ridge Elementary School. They also have three grandchildren, Walter, six, Abigail, three, and Harvey, five months.
