Justin and Natalie Ezell of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed 11 pounds, four ounces, and has been named Hudson James Ezell.
Grandparents are Randy and Sally Golden of Walnut Ridge and Sherry Ezell of Walnut Ridge and the late Herman Ezell.
He is the great-grandson of Ed Golden of Walnut Ridge.
Eric Loven of Ravenden Springs and Laura Stone of Ravenden have announced the birth of a daughter, born on Aug. 21, 2012, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed seven pounds, two ounces, and has been named Brylee Ann Loven.
Grandparents are Ernie and Margaret Loven of Ravenden Springs and Daniel and Carrie Stone of Ravenden.
Great-grandparents are Don and Mary Stone and Ray and Ruby Maple, all of Ravenden, Jack and Virginia Hunt of Trumann and Maxine Bennett and Elmer Loven, of Imboden.
The parents of Derek Clark Riddle and Samantha Josette Sanchez would like to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children. Derek and Samantha plan to be married Oct. 29, 2012, on Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
Samantha is the daughter of Sam and Letty Sanchez of Bella Vista. She is the granddaughter of Felipa Loera, also of Bella Vista, and Carlota and Ruperto Sanchez of San Benito, Texas. She is employed with Arvest Bank in Hot Springs.
Derek is the son of Merle and Vickie Mitchell of Walnut Ridge and C. R. and Elaina Riddle of Cabool, Mo. He is the grandson of Victor and Patsy Clark of Portia and Mable Gibson Riddle of Hazel Green, Ala., and the late Louis Ralph Riddle. Derek is employed with Performance Food Service of Little Rock.
After their wedding and honeymoon in South Carolina, the couple plans to make their home in Hot Springs.
J.R. Webb of Savannah, Tenn., and Joyce Hoffman of Jonesboro have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jeanie Webb, to John Trawick, son of Joann Trawick of Portia and the late John Spencer Trawick.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late J.C. and Gladys Webb and the late John and Cora Girard.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Peter and Katy Trawick and the late Edgar and Pearl Doyle.
The couple will exchange vows on Sept. 29 at the Portia Park in Portia at 6 p.m. A reception will follow in the Old Portia School Building.
All family and friends are invited to attend.
Brus Bernard Carter, 79, of Powhatan, died Sept. 6, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 13, 1932, in Alicia, he was the son of James and Ruth Light Carter. He was retired from Mechanics Universal Joint in Rockford, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Gail Bennett; and two sisters, Louise Crane and Pauline Crane.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Gaye Marley Carter, whom he married Oct. 17, 1952; four sons, Dan Carter, Byron, Ill., Mark Carter, West Bend, Ill., Jim Carter, Virginia, and Steve Carter, Roscoe, Ill.; two daughters, Christine Doughty, Rockford, Ill., and Kitty Rapier, Tennessee; a sister, Patsy Swanner, Jonesboro; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Charles Vern Holder, 77, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 5, 2012, at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born June 11, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Ervin and Alpha Rosselott Holder. He was a longtime area resident and a member of United Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dolores Holder; four brothers, Alex Holder, Nuel Holder, Uel Holder and Lloyd Holder; and three sisters, Mary McCullison, Lorene Blackwell and Evelyn Bristol.
Survivors include a son, Barry Holder, Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Pamela Firebaugh and husband Jim, Cabot; a brother, L.T. Holder, Rockford, Ill.; a sister, Bernice Brown, Independence, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jaclyn Bogan, Brittany Maxwell, Shannon Shrum, Chad Holder, Eric Holder and Adam Hughes; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral was Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at United Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Faris Paxton and Glenn Smith officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
Pallbearers were Chad Holder, Adam Hughes, Eric Holder, Brad Bogan, Brian Maxwell and Barry Holder. Honorary pallbearers Jim Firebaugh, Terry Smith, Bobby Segraves, David Segraves, Stefan Bratten and Nathan Bratten.

Joseph Robert Kopp, 59, of Hoxie, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 4, 1953, in Pocahontas, he was a retired Entergy lineman and a member of the Catholic Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Sr. and Bonita Willard Kopp.
Survivors include a son, Chris Kopp, Hoxie; a daughter, Jodi Cain, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Bonita Staudt, Hoxie; and a brother, Danny Kopp Jr., Hoxie.
Graveside service is Thursday at 10 a.m. at Old Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Annieville, under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Rosary service is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Marlyn Tate officiating. Visitation will follow from 6-8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home.

Coy H. Lawson, 92, of Fairfield Bay, formerly of Eaton, died Sept. 8, 2012.
Born Sept. 6, 1920, he was a retired representative of an educational publisher and a former Arkansas school administrator. He was a member of AARP, the Fairfield Bay Lions Club and was a 27-year member of the Arkansas Bookmen's Association. He also served in various other community services and activities.
He was a veteran of 31 combat missions in the 389th Group of the 8th Air Force in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rowena F. Lawson, on April 8, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Richard Lawson, Hot Springs; a daughter, Melissa Lawson Brown, North Little Rock; a sister, Bessie Richey, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private service for the family was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Little Rock. Olmstead Funeral Home of Fairfield Bay had charge of arrangements.

Aurora J. Trinidad, 104, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 6, 2012.
Born Feb. 18, 1908, in El Paso, Mexico, she was the daughter of Josˇ anf Francica Lozano Jarimello. She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Trinidad, in 1975, whom she married in 1932; two daughters, Recarda "Mary" Marshall and Felis Trinidad; a son, Ray Trinidad; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Lorenzo Trinidad, Trumann, Domingo Trinidad, Jonesboro, and Dimas Trinidad, Lake City; a daughter, Clotilda Stowers, Hoxie; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jonesboro, with Father Jack Vu officiating. Bryan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

KimberleyRae Marie Ward, 28, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 5, 2012, at her home.
Born Dec. 1, 1983, in Davenport, Iowa, she was a student at Black River Technical College. She was a member of the Arkansas Disaster Relief Team. She also taught Sunday school at the New Vision Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, as well as Kids Zone on Wednesday nights.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Orman; and grandfathers, John Anderson and Arthur Rhoades.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Ward; a daughter, KammiShae, of the home; two sons, Anthony Ward and Jonathon Ward, both of the home; her mother, Rebecca Turgeon and husband Russ, Canada; her stepfather, Walt Whitebirch, Florida; three brothers, Anthony Orman and Mica Morris, both of Hoxie, and William Orman and fiancˇ Jenna Astrope, Canada; a sister, Kelly Jones and husband Kenny, Walnut Ridge; and a grandmother, Sharon Anderson, Black Rock.
A private funeral service was held Tuesday under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
