Lady Cats sweep Cedar Ridge

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats took the road to face conference foe Cedar Ridge in high school volleyball action at Newark on Thursday.

The senior Lady Cats swept Cedar Ridge 25-13, 25-9, 25-15.

Sabrina Knight was a perfect 32-of-32 from the service line, including nine aces. She also had 10 digs and nine assists. Caroline Kelley had nine kills.

The Lady Bobcats improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in 3A-Northeast Conference play.

The Walnut Ridge junior high team also swept Cedar Ridge 25-12, 25-7.

Newport

The Lady Bobcats stepped out of the conference when they traveled to Newport on Aug. 27.

Walnut Ridge earned a three-game sweep of the Lady Greyhounds 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Kelley hammered 11 kills, and Ashlyn Cothern recorded 11 assists for the Lady Cats. Knight had 12 digs, while Hannah Massey was 17-of-17 serving.
