Hoxie Elementary has new faces
Hoxie Elementary School has six new teachers, as well as an addition to the lunchroom staff for the 2012-13 school year.
Erica Anglin, a native of Hoxie, is serving as fifth-grade science and spelling teacher. She has a bachelor's degree in technology management from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and is teaching through the non-traditional licensure program.
She and her husband, Rick Anglin, live in Hoxie. They have two children, Jacob, 12, and Sawyer, seven.
Jeanenne Treadwell, who holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in early childhood special education, will teach kindergarten at HES.
A native of El Paso, Texas, she has previously taught first through fourth grades in Anthony, N.M. and preschool special education at Twin Rivers School District.
She and her husband, James, live in Walnut Ridge. She has a daughter, Amber Hoffman, and a grandson, Cannon Dail.
Magan Tarver of Black Oak is the new sixth-grade literacy teacher.
A first-year teacher, she holds a bachelor's degree in education from ASU.
She is married to Blaine Tarver.
Danny W. Turner, who holds a master's degree in education from ASU, is teaching fifth-grade math.
He previously taught second grade, fifth grade and sixth grade at Armorel Elementary School.
He and his wife, Jackie, live in Paragould and have three grown children, Daniel Turner, Michael Turner and Melissa Turner.
Shauna Bennett, a Hoxie native and HHS graduate, is teaching fourth-grade math and science.
A first-year teacher, she holds a bachelor's degree in early elementary education.
She resides in Hoxie.
Stephanie Greer of Walnut Ridge is the new fourth-grade science and literacy teacher.
She holds a bachelor's degree from Williams Baptist College in early childhood education and a master's degree in educational theories and practice from ASU. This is her first year to teach.
She is a native of Hoxie and lives in Walnut Ridge with her husband, Jeff. They have three children, Kady Greer, nine, Nadia Greer, five, and Piper Greer, three.
Paula "Renee" Overton, a native of Hope, has joined the staff in the HES cafeteria.
She is married to Ricky Overton and has three daughters, Rachel and Rebecca, who are twins and live in Louisiana, and April, who lives in Hope.
