Ezekiel "Zeke" Don Maxie

Cody and Shana Maxie of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 10, 2012, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center.

The baby weighed nine pounds, 11 ounces, and has been named Ezekiel "Zeke" Don Maxie.

Grandparents are James and Vanessa Gray of Sedgwick, Mark and Sandy Price of Sylvester, Ga., Cindy Maxie of Hoxie and the late Don Maxie.

He is the great-grandson of Mary Gray, Rex and Ellen Gentry and Glenda Neely, all of Walnut Ridge.

Weddings/Engagements

Stone ~ Lamb

Tammy Stone of Hardy has announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Kelly Rae Stone, to Levi Grant Lamb, son of Bobby and Sharon Lamb of Black Rock.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late David Stone and the granddaughter of Anna Bell Evans of Hardy and the late Buford Ray Evans and Shelby Stone and Orville Stone, both of Springfield, Mo.

She is a 2011 graduate of Highland High School and is a student at Arkansas State University where she is majoring in radiology. She is employed by Liberty Bank.

The prospective groom is the grandson of E.A. and Dorothy Davis of Williford and the late Gracon and Nancy Lamb of Sedgwick.

He is a 2007 graduate of Black Rock High School and a 2011 graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in plant science. He is employed by the Randolph County Conservation District in Pocahontas.

Vows will be exchanged on Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Ravenden. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall. All friends and relatives are invited. No formal invitations will be sent.

Gary Wayne Liscomb

Gary Wayne Liscomb, 32, of Andover, Kan., passed away Aug. 19, 2012, at his home.

Born Dec. 20, 1979, in Jonesboro, he was a 1999 graduate of Hoxie High School. He was a college student and was of the Baptist belief. He loved sports and the Razorbacks.

Survivors include his wife, Tiffany Kay Minchue Liscomb; four boys, Lucky Owen Garyne Fallis, 12, Dylan Gage Wheeler, six, Talen Landon Zane Liscomb, two, and Chase Abel Liscomb, nine months; his father, Charles Liscomb, Hoxie; his mother, Mary Liscomb, Hoxie; a brother, Blake Liscomb, Hoxie; a niece, Courtney Blakely Liscomb; three nephews, Colton Swartz, Nicalos Swartz and Gabriel Swartz; and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral is Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Moore, Heath Davis, Chris Warden, DJ Steele, Daniel Waters, Allen McEntire, Matt Cook and Blake Householder. Honorary pallbearers will be Layton Frazier, Joseph Finney, Curtus Liscomb, Blaine Liscomb, Trey Meeks, Britt Jones and Stan Jones.

Visitation is Saturday from 5-8 p.m.

Peggy Parker

Peggy Ann Parker, 79, of Eaton, died Aug. 19, 2012, at her home.

Born Aug. 14, 1933, in Alicia, she was the daughter of Marvin and Johnnie Haigwood Lawrence. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Parker; two sons, Phillip Parker Jr. and Randy Parker, both of Eaton; a daughter, Jane Parker, Hot Springs; two brothers, Larry Lawrence, Cave City, and Doug Lawrence, Rockford, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Randall Parke and Caitlin Parker.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris officiating. Burial will be in Old Lebanon Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

William Edward Parten

William Edward Parten, 67, of Hoxie, died Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born March 3, 1945, in Pocahontas, he was the son of E.O. "Buster" and Ilene "Sid" Spradlin Parten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nancy Chastain and Brenda Oxford.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Parten; a son, Trent Parten and wife Stacy, Houston; a daughter, Jill Millsap and husband Richard, Hoxie; five brothers, Larry Parten, Lufkin, Texas, Theodore Parten, Paragould, Jim Parten, Denver, and Ronnie Parten and Donald Parten, both of Pocahontas; two sisters, Linda Lenderman and Lisa Kincade, both of Paragould; and five grandchildren, Landon Taleff, Logan Parten, Maddie Parten, Lake Light and Kinley Millsap.

Funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Terry Watson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Richard Tate, Craig Parten, Barry Ford, Mike French, William Sisco and Josh Agee.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.

Lonnie Dale Tribble, 54, of Pocahontas, brother of Barbara Coker of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 15, 2012, at his home.
