S-H has two new teachers
The Sloan-Hendrix School District has two new teachers, Alaina Beth Nichols and Emerald Welch. Nichols, who is a native of Pocahontas, will teach fourth-grade math, science, social studies and word study. She has a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Williams Baptist College and is a first-year teacher. She and her husband, Bobby, live in Ravenden Springs. They have three children, Haley, four, Brody, three, and Lacy, two. Welch, who previously taught preschool at Sloan-Hendrix, will be a third-grade teacher this year. She holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from WBC. A native of Imboden, she and her husband, Jerry, live in Hardy. They have two children, Megan Welch, 17, who is a senior in high school, and Chrissy Welch, 20.
