to 'Tie-dye the Town'
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Festival Committee is encouraging businesses in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie to "Tye-die the Town" in advance of this year's Beatles at the Ridge festival.
Businesses can do either an interior or exterior display or both, and the possibilities are wide open. While the theme is "Tye-die the Town," displays are not restricted to using a tie-dye theme. Organizers encourage displays with a Beatles, rock and roll, 1960s or 1950s theme.
"The idea is to get the excitement level up and help promote the upcoming event," said Gretchen Hunt, a committee member who is helping spearhead the campaign.
Those who wish to be judged need to register with the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce at 886-3232 or email@example.com. The Paragould Chamber of Commerce will provide judges for the competition, and a trophy will be presented to the winner in each category.
"The winners will receive a trophy to display for the year and will then have a chance to compete for the chance to retain the trophy the following year," Hunt said.
Businesses are asked to have their displays ready by Aug. 20. Judging will take place that week.
