Miscanthus could have
important role in NEA's future

Miscanthus, a crop that is new to Lawrence County and Northeast Arkansas, could be important to the area's economic future. It is important because the crop can provide an alternative and renewable fuel source, according to Tim Wooldridge of Paragould, area manager in Northeast Arkansas for MFA Oil Biomass.

Beatles at the Ridge event

Whether talking about the rock and roll icons who played along Highway 67 in the 1950s or The Beatles, who took the United States, and Walnut Ridge, by storm in the 1960s, one can be guaranteed that their music was influenced by the legendary Carl Perkins.

Man arrested after bank robbery

On July 20, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department arrested Randall Morris, 36, of Ravenden for commercial burglary and theft of property.

Businesses encouraged
to 'Tie-dye the Town'

The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Festival Committee is encouraging businesses in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie to "Tye-die the Town" in advance of this year's Beatles at the Ridge festival.
