WR POOL OPENS - Addie Vaughn, four-year-old daughter of Danny and Tammy Vaughn of Hoxie, enjoys a dip in the water at the Walnut Ridge City Pool on Friday. The pool opened just in time for above-normal temperatures during the holiday weekend and will be open seven days a week from 1-5 p.m. throughout the summer.

The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.

Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority (NEARIFA) board members heard updates on peanut drying facilities under construction in Lawrence and Randolph counties at their meeting on May 24 at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas. They were also encouraged to work diligently to ensure Highway 67 becomes a four-lane expressway from Walnut Ridge into Missouri.

Foley retiring from BR School

Foley said lifetime friendships have been formed through his work at Black Rock School including teachers he has worked with, students, parents, community members and school board members

Early voting period set for run-off

Early voting in a run-off election for the Democratic nomination for the First Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives will begin on Tuesday.
