Davis ~ Fultner

Johnny and Jean Davis of Imboden have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Brandon Davis, to Kyle Wayne Fultner, son of Gary and Sherri Fultner of Hoxie.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of William Odel Davis of Imboden and the late Alian Davis and Mary Cooper of Florida and the late John Cooper.

She is employed as an LPN at Walnut Ridge She is a 2012 Sloan-Hendrix High School graduate and plans to attend Black River Technical College in Pocahontas.

The prospective groom is the grandson of John and Jessie Fultner of Hoxie, the late Sharron Wynn and the late Donald Brown.

He is a 2008 Walnut Ridge High School graduate and is a 2010 graduate of BRTC. He is employed as a welder at Allen Manufacturing in Newport.

The couple will exchange vows on June 10 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Annieville. A reception will follow the wedding at the Old Davidsonville State Park pavilion.

All family and friends are invited to attend.

Hopper ~ Felts

Terry Hopper and Janet Baker, both of Searcy, have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Taylor Hopper, to Justin Felts, son of Jerry and Carolyn Felts of Walnut Ridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jody and Jackie Taylor of Searcy.

She is a graduate of Searcy High School and is a 2011 graduate of University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She received her master's degree from U. of A. in 2012.

The prospective groom is a Westside High School graduate and a 2011 graduate of University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He is employed at Transplace Logistics in Lowell.

The couple will exchange vows on July 14, 2012, at St. Anthony's on the Creek in Lowell. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Raymond Clark III

Raymond Byrd Clark III, 48, of Walnut Ridge, died May 17, 2012, at Blytheville.

Born Dec. 8, 1963, in Grand Prairie, Texas, he was a truck driver with the City of Blytheville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Byrd Clark II and Lena Marie Rener Clark; and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Clark.

Survivors include two brothers, Mike Clark, Austin, Texas, and Mark Clark and wife Dee, Waco, Texas; two sisters, Francine Cabal and husband Jim, Arlington, Texas, and Judy Lloyd and husband Billy, Walnut Ridge; and a special friend, Katrina. Shelby Ray Cooper

Shelby Ray Cooper, 98, of Strawberry, formerly of St. Louis, died May 16, 2012, at the Cave City Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 26, 1913, at Calamine, he was the son of Walter and Piety Warnick Cooper. He was a World War II Army veteran and a factory worker. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dula Louise Watson Cooper; three brothers, Floyd Cooper, Eulas Cooper and Don Cooper; and two sisters, Mae Walker and Hattie Erwin.

Survivors include a son, Mark Cooper, Strawberry; two nieces, Norma Finn, Arkansas, and Linda Willis, Texas; and four nephews, Anderson Erwin Jr. and Vernon Erwin, both of Arkansas, James Cooper, Tennessee, and Jerry Walker, Missouri.

Graveside service was Friday at 11 a.m. at Ward Cemetery at Strawberry with Bro. Kennard Ward officiating. Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City had charge of arrangements.

Ron Croom

Ron Austin Croom, 59, of Jonesboro, died May 16, 2012.

Born April 11, 1953, in Walnut Ridge, he was a musician and singer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Melverine Lantz Croom.

Survivors include his father, Gardner Croom, Jonesboro; a brother, Steve Croom, Jonesboro; a sister, Donna Allen, Jonesboro; and his grandmother, Bess Croom Holmes, Walnut Ridge.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Emerson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Freida Cunningham

Freida Cunningham, 87, of Paragould, died May 20, 2012, at Belle Meade Nursing Center.

Born June 8, 1924, in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Ralph and Pearl Haas Haulum. She was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Cunningham; two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Rae Ann Cunningham, Paragould, and Freida Kaye McCartney, Bellingham, Wash.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is today at 10 a.m. at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with John Binkley officiating. Cox Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Ules Holder

Ules Holder, 68, of Swifton, died May 16, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born Nov. 3, 1943, he had lived in Swifton for three years after moving from Indianapolis. He attended the Cash Southern Baptist Church, where he was the piano player. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother.

Survivors include two brothers, I.J. Holder and wife Sheralyn, Swifton, and Larry Holder and wife Faye, Indianapolis; and five sisters, Ellen Dean Gentry and husband Rex, O'Kean, Freda Rhodes and husband Leman, Otwell, Carolyn Russell and husband Jim, Cicero, Ind., Mary McCurn, Indianapolis, and Sharon Huskey, Swifton.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cash Southern Baptist Church with Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial was in Arnold Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.

Clara Keech

Clara Jeanette Keech, 74, of Imboden, died May 22, 2012.

She was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Imboden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Wyatt Keech; and twin granddaughters.

Survivors include a son, Steven Keech, Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Jeanine Duncan, Walnut Ridge, and Frema Gipson, Imboden; two sisters, Sally Vanwinkle, Imboden, and Ethal Lawson, Ravenden; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Friday at 10 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Joe Loghery officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Duncan, Josh Duncan, Zeb Gipson, Kindra Duncan, Natalie Gipson, Haley Peoples, Rick Duncan, Steve Gipson and Danny Peoples.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

Terry D. Miles , 58, of Jonesboro, brother of Bonnie Dale Oldham of Hoxie, died May 20, 2012, at NEA Baptist Hospital. Edward Moody Jr.

Edward Moody Jr., 50, of Bono, died May 17, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Morgan; and a sister, Paula Moody.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Wallis Moody, whom he married Jan. 1, 1994; two sons, Anthony Cook and Michael Moody, both of the home; and his mother, Lorine Morgan, Highland.

Graveside service was Saturday at noon at Lawrence Memorial Park with Ed Baker officiating. Cox Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Anthony Cook, Michael Moody, Ivan Wallis, Bill Wallis, Dustin Turner and Robert Callahan.

Charles Stevens

Charles Woodrow Stevens, 81, of Paragould, died May 19, 2012, at his home.

Born Feb. 10, 1931, in Delaplaine, he was the son of Charles Edward and Victoria Clark Stevens. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Stormes; his stepmother, Rosie Hollaway Stevens; two brothers, Bob Stevens and Paul Stevens; and three sisters, Irene Stevens, Lenora Hill and Lilly Jordan.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Clara Pitcher Stevens; a daughter, Vera Bounds and husband Larry, Delaplaine; a son, Charles Edward Stevens, Paragould; a son-in-law, Ed Stormes, Paragould; five sisters, Imogene Rainwater, Delaplaine, Venita Amick, Phoenix, Wanda Fox and husband Gene, Brixey, Mo., Arzaela Svaglic, St. Clair, Mo., and Vivian Davis, Paragould; six grandchildren, Chris Bounds, Brent Bounds, Kelly Bounds, Jon Bounds, Brian Bounds and Crystal Lee; and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held today at 2 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Tommy Pitcher officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bounds, Brent Bounds, Kelly Bounds, Jon Bounds, Brian Bounds and Rob Lee.

Leslie Junior Thomas

Leslie Junior Thomas, 59, of Jonesboro, died May 20, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born Dec. 15, 1952, he was a lifelong resident of Craighead County and of the Church of God belief. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a self-employed electrician. p> He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Thomas; a brother, Terry Thomas; and a sister, Melissa McAfee.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Life Cathederal Church in Hoxie with Herman Ring officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
