Taylor Hopper limited Hillcrest to one hit, as Armorel defeated the Screamin' Eagles 10-0 in the first round of the Class 1A State Baseball Tournament on Thursday at Taylor.
Armorel led 1-0 after four and one-half innings, but erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game due to the run rule.
Colman Evans had Hillcrest's only hit. Tyler Parker was the starting pitcher and Hunter Nunnally came on in relief.
