Hoxie's Coffell breaks record
during 3A State Track Meet

Hoxie's Krista Coffell completes a pole vault at the height of 10 feet, five inches during the Class 3A State Track meet. She went on to win the event with a 10-foot, six-inch vault, which is now the state record.

Several athletes from Hoxie High School competed in the 3A State Track Meet on Thursday at Prescott.

Krista Coffell set a new state record for 3A girls in the pole vault, going 10'6", breaking the old record of 10 feet. Coffell was also second in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump.

Cayley Wagoner placed sixth in girls pole vault with an effort of 8'6".

Jacob Henson, Mack Morris and Eric Moore competed in the boys pole vault.

Austin Williams, Chad Rutledge, Quentin Smith and Cole Sears competed in the boys 4x800 meter relay.

Cats earn
regional title

An 11-run second inning propelled the Walnut Ridge Bobcats to a 14-1 victory over Marmaduke in the finals of the 2A-North Regional Baseball Tournament on Monday at Marked Tree.

Hillcrest boys advance to state

The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles baseball team clinched a berth in the 1A State Tournament with an 11-1 victory over Calico Rock in the first round of the 1A Region 2 Tournament on Friday at Brockwell.

1A State Track Meet results announced

The senior high track teams from Sloan-Hendrix and Hillcrest high schools, as well as several Lawrence County residents who attend Crowley's Ridge Academy, competed in the 1A State Track Meet on Thursday at Prescott.
