EARLY VOTING UNDERWAY - Janet Latham (right), who is assisting with early voting in the Lawrence County Clerk's Office, sets up the electronic voting machine for Fred Stuart of Walnut Ridge on Monday morning. Individuals can vote weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the early voting period for the Primary and judicial elections. The last day to vote early will be May 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lady Eagles
are AMC Tourney champs

The Williams Baptist College softball squad won the American Midwest Conference Tournament championship on Friday afternoon. WBC swept the Pirates from Park University in the best-of-three series. They won game one 5-0 and game two 3-2 in the 10th inning. Now the Lady Eagles will be headed to the national tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Escapee caught in Missouri

A Lawrence County inmate who escaped while on a work detail is now facing numerous charges in Lawrence and Randolph counties after being apprehended in Missouri.
