HHS students attend HOBY

Hoxie High School sophomores Brandy Alls, Canaan Craig and Spencer Hart received the honor to represent their school at the 2012 Arkansas Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.

The seminar was held Friday morning through Sunday at the DoubleTree Suites in Bentonville. Teressa Hart, a member of the Hoxie School faculty, accompanied the students to Bentonville.

HOBY's mission is "to seek out, recognize and develop leadership potential commencing with high school sophomores, and to encourage and prepare the next generation of civic and corporate leadership for America's future."

During the conference, ambassadors heard motivational speakers, including several Walmart executives, set personal goals and spent three hours performing a variety of community service projects. They were charged to complete 100 hours of volunteer service over the next 12 months.
